Re-watching this while knowing their identities is kind of funny lol- K not wanting to get involved in the murder case, A scaring the shit out of H, Vermouth just casually disguised as that person when the real person is there (I tried to not tell spoilers so its just hints there but its pretty obvious hints)

Right?! This whole time I'm just like, no, Haibara, he's a good guy, no need to be so dramatic :/ .... But ig all they've done up to this point with Subaru is make him super suspicious this whole time, so ig watching it without knowing who he is makes this even more of an interesting and heart pumping case! I'm glad I didn't spoil myself ahead of time on my first watch of this, bc it was so fun to watch this case without knowing, and to figure stuff out on my own! And now on my second time watching, knowing kinda dampens that a little bit, but it also makes it pretty cool to notice all the little things that gave things away, and things i wouldn't have known the first time around. All the irony in this too that went over my head when I didn't know everything too, like Vermouth dressing as Akai, whilst he was literally RIGHT THERE... hehehehehe they tried, at least.. Glad to see another person enjoying a rewatch as well!

Anyways this comment is very incoherent I apologize for that i can't seem to form words and decipherable thoughts rn but I hope you get where i'm going!

Rewatching this, there were so many funny hints Gosho dropped. Like when we met Subaru, the kid gave him "red" as a nickname, so "Akai". When we meet Amuro for the first time in the twins case, one of the customers in the restaurant asks Amuro for a bourbon on ice lmao. Like every time we met someone the hint was right there in our faces.

Probably this isn’t the first time they helped Conan before

you and i are thinking the exact same thing. 'somehow' Shinichi's parents got on the train to bail him and Haibara out. but i'm at a 50/50 impasse on this. Yuusaku and Yukiko know about Shin/Conan... but has Prof. Agasa been telling tales to the Kudos behind Shin and Ai's backs? have the Kudo couple actually moved back into their mansion using a dual disguise trick? sometimes Subaru is Yuusaku and sometimes he's Yukiko. i would guess the reason why Subaru ALWAYS wears high collared shirts is a Prof. A special 'undercover' voice-changer that works directly on a person's voice-box instead of changing sound waves through the air.

Yukiko, like Vermouth and Kaito Kuroba have been trained to change their voices. but how long do those 3 abilities' to do that last? minutes? hours? days? i doubt Yuusaku has that amount of training. so a voice-changer would be necessary. otherwise Shinichi, Ran, and probably Sonoko (i don't know if she's met the Kudos yet) would recognize Yuusaku's voice eventually.

remember when Sonoko found lipstick on a glass in the sink of the Kudo mansion's kitchen? was that Yukiko's or... is Subaru actually Bourbon and that lady we saw sitting in their cabin Vermouth? was that Vermouth's lipstick on that glass?

is the Scarred Akai Vermouth, Bourbon, or actually Akai? or is Subaru actually Akai? he mentioned Haibara's sister right before inviting her into the cabin. Haibara has gotten the BO 'vibe' turning on and off around Subaru more than once. is that due to Akai being undercover with the BO so long he has 'their scent' of violence?

that's one damn twisted arc perhaps 'coming to a close' right here on this train?

haibara can sense the stain of death approaching

btw Mouri is referencing Hercule Poirot, and the whole thing about this train is that it is a huge reference to Agatha Christies "Murder on the Orient Express" novel. Conan even mentioned her name on the earlier ep. The novel is quite good and worth reading... (I have written this comment at the start of the episode, and didnt know that they would mention the novel in this ep.)

SShields • 2 years ago

To further your point, Mouri even changed his mustache to match Poirot's.

watching this but I'm very far ahead in the manga so this is so funny!! Lol Conan should win a prize for how much he's been gaslighting Haibara up till now
